Yorkshire saw most of the action, with moves against the already-resited camp, and a lock-on. Ryedale campaigners sprung into action following the announcement that Third Energy aims to frack Kirby Misperton. Pants-on-fire Third Energy claimed disappointing results from conventional formations led to a change. Campaigners guessed all along the target was shale and fracking. Scottish protestors targeted the HQ of INEOS.
Greenpeace published a poll showing a majority of Lancashire people were against fracking. In Sussex a judge did not allow the judicial review of West Sussex County Council's grant of planning permission to Cuadrilla to go to the High Court. The legal team for the petitioners claimed significant major issues had been overlooked by the judge in making his decision.
The government launched what will no doubt turn out to be yet another sham consultation exercise, inviting comments on the environmental effects of fracking.
