Cuadrilla's applications for fracking in the Fylde had a further setback when it was announced that Lancashire County Council has needed more time to consider the two applications. The applications, which were expected to be determined early November, have been set back for another couple of months. Preston New Road may be determined before Christmas, but Roseacre Wood not until January.
In our view it is unacceptable that these applications should not be considered together as they are intimately linked and have a cumulative effect which should be taken into account.
In the Lords, as expected the government's amendments went through committee and any amendment designed to mitigate the Infrastructure Bill disaster was withdrawn, not moved in face of clear failure.
