Special Report - Professor Smythe's evidence to the Lords - why our water is at risk
UK news highlights
The Crimean war had Florence Nightingale, the Longstone Lighthouse had Grace Darling, the Suffragettes had Emmeline Pankhurst (a Moss SIde girl).
Now Barton Moss has heroine Anne Power.
Windmill blades? Trucks? Who needs them? We just need more like Anne, a one-woman blockade.
Monday morning. Another day as IGas try and get their drilling started.
Tuesday morning. Another unconditional bail result. When will the police realise that their stupid bail conditions have been tossed out of court at Balcombe and now Barton Moss?
In the pic? One protector, one solicitor, one heroine.
And the rest? lock on protectors also given unconditional bail. The police action is seen as more and more unreasonable, wrongheaded and misjudged as every day goes by.
From the Guardian, Boxing Day-
"The Telegraph has damned the Barton Moss camp by claiming it is led by semi-professional protesters from out of town who enjoy negligible local support. But walk around any of the estates near the camp and the number of Frack Off posters in the windows tell a different story."
On November 30th IGas boss Andrew Austin was reported by the Telegraph to have told them drilling had started at Barton Moss.
"The chief executive of the shale gas explorer, IGas, has confirmed it has started drilling at Barton Moss, near Manchester."
This, of course, was patent nonsense. The rig and cranes to set it up were only arriving last week. Yet one more piece of BS in the propaganda war. Who do we blame for that? Telegraph? Whose pants are on fire? Is it any coincidence that IGas share price peaked after the announcement (and have dropped since)? Do they think we are fracking stupid?
A complaint to the Press Commission was lodged over a disgraceful Telegraph piece of anti-fracking propaganda last weekend. Just like the Advertising Standards Agency upheld multiple charges against Cuadrilla this year, we can only hope that truth will prevail.

A business report reminds us that with advancing technologies and greed any UK wells are likely to experience more than a quick single frack.
